of tall hexagonal form, each side with a quatrelobed figural cartouche, the tops, borders, and stands with scrolling lotus and other patterns; together with an ovoid-form lantern with two lobed 'Immortals' cartouches surrounded by scrolling lotus, shou characters, and other decorative motifs, set on a conforming pedestal stand (6)
Provenance
Collection of Charles Hayes Brown (1859-1910), San Francisco, California, and thence by descent.
Condition
The hexagonal stands and bases in overall good condition, with only minor firing imperfections (shallow firing tears to the interior). Both stamped "CHINA" on the lantern bases. The ovoid lantern with an approx. 35-cm hairline crack and a small hairline star crack, both barely visible from the outside; the stand with a semi-circular aperture (approx. 1.2 x 1.7 cm) cut at the foot for the electrical cord. All three stands are fitted with electrical cords and light bulb sockets.
