Description

the circular upper panel centered by a forward-facing dragon below a shou medallion, writhing amidst a 'flaming pearl' and scrolling clouds, all embroidered with seed pearls and defined with knotted stitch against a navy blue silk ground, the back panel with colorful ruyi and scrolling arabesques in knotted stitch
Condition
In overall fair condition with the pearls, embroidery, and silks mostly intact. Minor damage to area near the dragon's left rear paw, including abrasion to the embroidered wave below and to an approx. 8 x 4 mm section of navy silk ground nearby, the embroidered white dot below the paw re-stitched, and a small hole to the silk beside a nearby cloud (diameter approx. 2 mm). Some of the gold-wrapped threads at the border of each side have loosened, as expected with age. The pink silk lining with some areas of fading and minor abrasion to the edge, as expected from age and use.
