Description

  • variously colored abalone, lmother of pearl, lacquered wood
of circular form with straight sides and beaded top edge encircling an inlaid scene of a fisherman seated in a boat on rippling waters, the interior of the cover with inlaid inscription and signed Qianli with a square seal (2)

Condition

With small losses and flakes to the mother of pearl inlay. Cracks visible to the ridged rim of the cover, with glue visible to the interior suggesting the inlaid panel has been either consolidated or later added. Cracks to lacquer throughout.
