Description

  • Rock crystal, wood stand(rosewood dalbergia)
of baluster form, the body carved entirely in high relief with two phoenix moving between clusters of peonies and bamboo, the neck with three stylized animal mask handles suspending loose rings, the cover with three further ringed handles surmounted by a recumbent phoenix grasping a peony stem in its beak, wood stand (3)

Condition

There are minor abrasions, shallow chips scattered along the edges of the cover, mouth, carved decoration, and foot. The stone has natural fissures, inclusions and natural crevices throughout. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
