Farmer, New York, the mouth rim mounted with a silver collar and inkwell stamped sterling, with a hinged cover surmounted by an openwork carved black and white jade hair ornament mounted as a finial

Condition

The body of the porcelain vessel in overall good condition, but with a circular firing line to the interior of the base, and the base drilled to accommodate the screw connecting the metal foot to the vessel. The jade finial with scattered losses and chips has been broken-off and re-attached.
