each of compressed globular form with loop handles, the first with four brown flowers painted on white slip with clear glaze, wood stand; the other painted in white slip with clear glaze, wood stand; together with a Yuan-early Ming dynasty blue and white jarlet of globular form with two small lug handles, molded beading forming six vertical ribs around the body, with three floral sprigs in underglaze blue (5)

Provenance

Purchased in Hong Kong, 1960s-1970s.

Condition

The blue and white jarlet in overall fair condition with only expected surface wear from burial, a small frit to the rim, and minor manufacturing imperfections such as an uneven rim (as illustrated in the catalog). The Cizhou jarlet with brown flowers in mostly good condition with only minor restoration to the rim and one handle. The smallest jarlet with expected surface wear (including abrasion to the glaze, some of it darkened to gray, as illustrated in the catalog).
