of irregular form, carved in low relief to one side with a pair of phoenix, the larger perched atop craggy rockwork, wings out-stretched, the long tail feathers spread out behind, gazing backwards towards its companion, the other side with a pair of deer grazing amidst pine trees and further rockwork

Condition

The relief of the animals and landscape elements well-preserved, and only scattered minor nicks throughout the stone. A loss to the top of the stone above the central phoenix's wings (hole approx. 5 x 3 x 1.5 cm).
