the gently shaped crestrail, over a S-shaped splat, rounding to the back posts continuing through the seat frame to form the straight back legs, the sinuous armrails supported on an S-shaped brace and straight front post continuing through the frame to form the front legs, the hard wood seat set within a frame,  the square section legs joined by plain spandrels, a footrail, side and back stretchers

Condition

The armchairs with repaired breaks to the joins at either end of the crest rail and back posts, to joins at the back post and arms, and the arm terminals and front posts. There are splits at the base of the splat. There are repaired splits to two legs-one with pegs and patches. The joinery is a bit loose. There has been general consolidation, other minor repairs and wear consistent with age and use. Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
