the cylindrical vessel gilt-decorated with four adjoining vertical cloud scrolls, the rim and stepped base also gilt, the patina dark brown with russet mottling

Condition
The brushpot with red-brown oxidation throughout, and expected wear to the gilding. The surface mostly smooth to the touch. The cylindrical form slightly irregular from the manufacturing process.
