Catalogue Note

Mutang was the sobriquet of Feng Liyuan (1902-1970), a modern Suzhou epigraphist best known for his bamboo carving. A carved bamboo seal positioner by Feng Liyuan with the same date and seals sold at Christie's New York, 17th March 2016, lot 1120.
