the body supported on three slender cylindrical legs, and crisply cast with a broad taotie mask band divided by six vertical notched flanges all below a pair of upright handles on the rim

Collection of John Platt, acquired in New York between 1890 and 1920, and thence by descent.

Condition

There are minor nicks along the edges, there is a minute hole in the base . There are two spots of residue on one leg. There is a casting patch visible in the interior. Apart from signs of wear, the piece appears to be in good overall condition.
