Description

the rounded sides rising to an everted rim, painted in iron-red, green, yellow and aubergine enamels, the interior with a barbed panel enclosing a central peony flower amidst a scattered array of leafy blooms, surrounded by a diaper band, the cavetto with large peony blooms and scrolling foliage on a 'roe' ground, the underside with four evenly spaced floral sprays

Condition

There are scattered minor chips and frits to the rim. Some expected wear to the glaze, enamels, and foot ring and some minor firing imperfections, consistent with age and type. The base with an old label.
