the body of square section rising from a short straight circular foot to a tapering circular neck with a lipped rim, molded with the 'Eight Trigrams' to each of the four sides, covered overall in a lustrous celadon glaze, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue

Acquired in the 1940s, and thence by descent.

Condition

In overall good condition with some minor glaze abrasions to the underside. There is some expected wear to the glaze and foot ring and minor firing imperfections, consistent with age and type. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
