painted with a medallion of lotus plants emerging from the water, a duck flying overhead, encircled by a frieze of ducks interspersed by further lotus, between double line borders, the underside with flowering lotus, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue together with a small 20th century doucai and famille-rose dish, the central medallion with foliate C-scroll decoration beneath a narrow border of bats, clouds and wanzi on a stippled ground, the reverse with further scrollwork, the base with apocryphal Guangxu mark (2)

Condition

The dish with three hairline cracks to the sides of the interior and five chips to the rim (largest approx. .8 x 1.8 cm), all of which are filled-in and repainted. The dish is sprayed allover, save for the base. The footring with expected wear, including shallow chips and frits to the underside. The smaller dish with two hairline cracks from the rim (longest approx. 2.5 cm), two chips and one bruise to the rim (largest approx. 8 mm), frits to the footring, an uneven rim, and minor firing imperfections (including small burst glaze bubbles).
