Description

  • hongmu
the rectangular top comprised of a single floating panel within a mitered frame of standard construction, the rounded frame over pierced and beaded hook-scroll spandrels and aprons centered by chilong medallions, all supported on beaded-edge rectangular-section legs, joined by low stretchers at either short end and terminating in scroll feet

Condition

The table is in good condition overall. There is shrinkage to the top panels and some horizontal splitting to the sides and top. There are scattered filled and patch repairs to splitting and the inside of the all four feet are spliced on and possibly later replacements. There may be other minor replacements to elements of the openwork aprons and spandrels. There there has been general consolidation to the joinery, and wear to the surface consistent with age and use. Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
