Description

  • silver, gilt bronze, enamel and hard stone
  • length 4.4cm, 1 3/4 in.
of egg form, enamelled in opalescent pink over hatched engine-turning, the hinged lid with chased two-colour gold leaf border and centred with a circular-cut diamond, the ball feet below leaf brackets, struck with workmaster's initials, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 1805

Condition

Generally very good order, there is one area of slight discolouration, above the rim near the thumbpiece, visible in the catalogue photo. This does not fluoresce under UV light and does not appear to be restoration.
