There is minor stable splitting in the wood consistent with the material, including on the sitter's face. Visible above her proper right eye and elsewhere are minor chips. There is an open naturally occurring knot in the wood to the centre of the hair on the front. There are fissures and abrasions to the wood scattered throughout the hair. Attached to the base by means of a metal rod which runs along the back of the sculpture. There is general wear to the base.
