Condition

Original canvas, which has several repair patches on the reverse. Slight buckling in all four corners. There are frame abrasions along all four edges with associated paint loss. Inspection under UV light reveals several areas of restoration corresponding to the aforementioned patches, the most significant of which are on the back of the thighs of the sitter on the left extending to the fabric, the forehead of the sitter on the right and below her right knee. Held in a monumental carved wood frame with gilt highlights. Unexamined out of frame.
