Condition
Original canvas on what appears to be the original stretcher. There is a layer of surface dirt, which is particularly noticeable in the built-up areas of impasto. Paint shrinkage is visible throughout the bouquet. There are cracks to the impasto with associated paint loss, in particular to the green pigment at the centre and to the foliage in the top left. There are further areas of paint loss to the flower at the centre of the right edge. There are minor abrasions along the edges. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gilt wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
