Condition

The canvas has been lined and the tacking edges are taped over with gummed paper. Isolated areas of craquelure are visible in the built up areas of white pigment. There are two tiny paint chips to the right of her left earing and a couple of other very minor scattered paint chips. Inspection under UV light reveals retouching to the sitter's hair, as well as other more minor scattered retouching throughout, notably to her face, chest and to places at the edges. Held in a simple gold coloured wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
