Provenance

Acquired by Otto Christian Scavenius (1875-1945), the uncle of the present owner's grandmother, who was the Danish Envoy to St Petersburg between 1909-1912.

Condition

There are several creases with associated paint loss to the lower left. There are small areas of paint loss to the sky centre left as well as to the bottom edge. Some scattered foxing is visible, notably to the sky. There is a faint surface scratch to the right of the monument running all the way to the bottom edge. There is minor wear to the edges and corners. The sheet is undulating in places, notably in the corners. The sheet is attached to the mount in the corners. The upper left corner has become detached where the remnants of adhesive have caused minor bubbles. Held in wooden frame behind glass. Unexamined out of frame.
