Catalogue Note

Born into a peasant family, Georgy Zhukov joined the Bolshevik Party after the Revolution and fought in the Russian Civil War. He later distinguished himself during the Second World War, notably at the Battle of Moscow, the defence of Stalingrad and the Battle of Berlin, eventually becoming the most decorated general in the history of both Russia and the USSR.
