Overall measurements; cm across the top, cm across the bottom, cm the left hand side, cm the right hand side.
Stretcher: 70.5cm by 47.5cm by 3cm; 2ft. 3in., 1ft. 6in., 1in.
Textile: 68cm by 46.5cm; 2ft. 2in., 1ft. 6in
Shaped fragment mounted on a natural coloured linen. Wool foundation. Pile varies from 2/3mm pile, down to knot-heads. Several holes as visible in the photograph. Red stitching used to attach it to the linen mount, all around the edges and the holes. Interesting to see the edge of inner yellow guard across the top of edge, see extra images on sothebys.com or request directly from the department.
