- Wool, pile
- approximately 417 by 103cm; 13ft. 7in., 3ft. 4in.
inscription: 'Work of ..... ', with illegible name
Condition
Overall measurements; 103cm across the top, 103cm across the bottom, 414cm the left hand side, 417cm the right hand side.
Pile variable from 4mm in ivory borders down to knotheads, through oxidisation, in browns. This is commensurate with age. Triple banded sidecords partially replaced. Top with vestiges of knoted fringing and flatweave. Bottom end with trimmed fringing. Both ends not secured and would benefit from attention. A light cheerful and early example. The design is not as busy or 'spotted' as in the printed catalogue. Nearer mid 19th century in date, there are some very good early colours for example the rose pink.
