Condition

Stretcher: 126 by 49.5 by 3cm; 4ft. 1in., 1ft. 7in., 1in; On natural coloured cotton. Fragment: 122 by 46cm; 4ft., 1ft. 6in. Pile varies from 2mm down to knot-heads. Loosely attached with light coloured threads to the natural coloured cotton mount. Some red discolouration to the top right hand corner, as visible around the holes in that area. Loosely spun thick wool thread foundation, visible as unspun now on edges. Lovely example with shadows of the bird motifs emerging from the creamy coloured ground, with lazy lines visible.
