reputedly bought in the Delhi Durbar, circa 1911, thence by descent to the present owner
Condition
Overall measurements; 176cm across the top, 179cm across the bottom, 225cm the left hand side, 221cm the right hand side.
Dense even 2mm pile overall. Some oxidisation to the taupe colour, ground of the motifs in the field and border, especially in the top half, and centre top border motif for example. Banded flatweave at both ends, with fringing and soumakh overcasting. Original sidecords. Tension lines and warp knots visible within pile in places. Decorative rug.
