Description
- Wool, pile
- approximately 170 by 99cm; 5ft. 5in., 3ft. 2in.
Condition
Overall measurements; 94cm across the top, 99cm across the bottom, 170cm the left hand side, 170cm the right hand side.
Colours not as strident in reality with warmer yellows and lighter madder medallions. Generally even 1-2mm pile and down to knotheads in areas of the field. There is a very small split, approx 8mm, found in the upper 'Karagashli' gul which would benefit from professional attention. There is some oxidisation to the browns and resulting attractive differentiation in height between the brown and polychrome pile motifs. Flatweave ends, which need overlocking. Nick in lower right corner as visible in the photograph. Original side cords, with some loses. Attractive piece with bold design and colouring.
