The portfolio, comprising 26 of 27 lithographs (lacking W.A.C. 399), five printed in colors, 1988, each initialed in pencil and inscribed 'ap 3/4', an artist's proof copy aside from the edition of 20 numbered in Roman numerals, loose (as issued), on various handmade Japan papers attached with chine appliqué to Arches wove paper, with title and text by Octavio Paz, printed by Trestle Editions Limited, New York, published by The Limited Editions Club, New York, contained in the original linen-covered box (26 of 27 prints)

Condition

The prints are in good condition, the full sheets. Very slight undulation to some sheets and an occasional faint spot of surface soiling in a margin or on a verso. The initials and numbering on W.A.C. 386 very slightly smudged. W.A.C. 401 with a small, pale green stain in the upper extreme sheet edge. W.A.C. 405 with a narrow band of pale discoloration along the lower sheet edge at right, and a tiny rust fleck in upper right margin. W.A.C. 414 with two small paper imperfections in the red. The versos of each print inscribed sequentially in pencil 1 through 26 (omitting 12 for W.A.C. 399 and excluding the last lithograph, W.A.C. 414). The linen-covered box with a damp stain along the right side, with associated buckling to the board and lifting of the linen, and some light wear around the edges.
