Etching printed in brownish-black, circa 1880-81, a heretofore unrecorded working proof between Glasgow's fourth and fifth states, on laid paper with large margins, framed

Condition

In generally good condition apart from printer's creases (as could be usual in a working proof). A pale green stain in the water at lower right and a small brown accretion in the sky at upper left (both stronger on the verso). Some other soft diagonal creases. The lower left corner with a small loss torn away (the piece is still there), and the verso in this area with old hinge stains and skinning. The margins with slight soiling, minuscule fox marks and a few small stains. Ink inscriptions on the verso F.C.?, R.G.?, 2.70.C. and in pencil P.C.C. 1898.
