The complete deluxe edition of the portfolio, 1964, comprising six lithographs on Rives BFK wove paper and japon nacré (four printed in colors, one printed in black, two impressions of M. 407), signed in pencil on the frontispiece and numbered 47 on the colophon (one of 75 copies of the deluxe edition, total edition was 225), with the separate suite of four lithographs on japon nacré each signed in pencil and numbered 47/75, printed by Mourlot, Paris, published by XXe Siècle, Paris, text by Eugène Ionesco, loose (as issued), contained in the original clamshell and cardboard boxes (6 prints)
Condition
The prints are in good condition, the full sheets. Each with an occasional slight printer's crease on the rectos and a few tiny, inconspicuous fox marks on the versos. (The occasional spot of minor discoloration also on the versos.) The cover lithograph is lightly toned. Some of the reproductions with faint discoloration and the occasional fox mark. One page of text with light foxing. The clamshell box in good condition aside from light wear at the edges. The cardboard box with areas of damp stain, remnants of adhesive tape and wear throughout.
