The complete portfolio comprising 70 lithographs, printed in black and in colors, en- and hors-texte, 1948-50, signed in blue ink by the artist and author on the justification page, numbered 178 (total edition was 253), on Malacca pure rag paper, text by Tristan Tzara, published by Maeght, Paris, contained in the original wrappers with lithograph and collage and the original lithographed paper-covered boards and slipcase (70 prints)
Condition
The portfolio is in good condition. The wrapper with a rectangular area of light toning on the front and back covers. The sheets very lightly toned (slightly darker at extreme sheet edges), with an occasional small, inconspicuous fox mark and soft handling crease. The boards in good condition aside from some light surface soiling and a few small fox marks. The slipcase in generally good condition aside from a few small tears and some surface soiling. (Lacking one blank leaf mentioned in Cramer.)
