The complete portfolio in three volumes, comprising 100 wood engravings printed in colours, with justification page, 1959-70, each signed in pencil and numbered 15/100 (as cited in Field p. 192, aside from the total edition of 4765), on BFK Rives wove paper, published in 1970 by Les Heures Claires, contained in three original cloth-covered boards and slipcases

Condition

Heaven canto: Each sheet glued to mount verso (some with remains of glue verso), with a deckle at lower sheet edge (some with a deckle edge at left side), the occasional stray fox mark (in the margins), very slight discoloration at the sheet edges, a small area of soiling at the right edge of the contents page. The slip cover with minor creases and indents. Purgatory canto: with minor discoloration at extreme sheet edges, (some sheets with impressions from previous hinges visible only in a raking late at upper sheet edge), each sheet glued to mount verso, the occasional stray fox mark, a small area of soiling at lower centre on the contents page. The slip case with an area of lifted cloth. Hell canto: each sheet glued to the mount verso, with discoloration at the sheet edges, the occasional stray fox mark, a small area of soiling toward left edge of the contents page. Slip covers with minor scuffing and surface staining.
