Condition

The sitter's vest appears slightly solarized. There is a border of heavy tarnish along the upper, right, and bottom contours of the mat. Tiny black and transparent speckles of indeterminate nature are visible overall upon very close inspection but are generally not distracting. Some of the visual noise one sees in the catalogue illustration is likely on the underside of the glass and not a feature of the present plate. The case is intact, but it is worn and may have been repaired previously.
