Condition

It is believed that no more than 30 copies of this portfolio were signed by the photographer prior to his death. This complete portfolio of 15 photographs is in generally excellent condition. When examined closely in high raking light, the following are visible on some of the plates: occasional handling creases that do not appear to break the emulsion and extremely faint silvering in the darkest areas of the image at the periphery. Some of the margins are very gently rippled. The plates are as follows: John F. Kennedy, Democratic National Convention, Los Angeles, 1960 Marilyn Monroe, "Seven Year Itch" set, New York City, 1955: On the reverse are 2 minor abrasions. Jackie Robinson, at home in Connecticut, 1961 Andy Warhol, Norman Mailer's 50th Birthday Party, New York City, 1973 Richard Nixon, Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, 1969 Norman Mailer, 50th Birthday Party, New York City, 1973 John Huston, "Annie" set, Burbank, 1981 Nelson Rockefeller, Republican Headquarters on election night of Nixon Landslide, New York City, 1968 Hugh Hefner - Jesse Jackson, Operation PUSH Fundraiser, Chicago, 1972 Muhammad Ali - Oscar Bonavena Press Conference, New York City, 1970 George Wallace, Cotton Bowl, Dallas, 1964 Betty Friedan, opening at the Whitney Museum, New York City, 1969 Diane Arbus, Love-In, Central Park, New York City, 1969 John Glenn - Walter Cronkite, State Dinner for Apollo XI Astronauts, Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, 1969 Lyndon Johnson, Cape Kennedy, Florida, 1969 There are 3 tiny rust-colored deposits on the title page. There are some scratches to the black lettering.
