Condition

This photograph is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, deposits of original retouching are visible overall, as are as 2 barely discernible, uneven linear impressions that run horizontally in the upper portion of the image. There are 2 stray linear ink deposits in the left margin each with an adjacent pinpoint-sized impression, and a small label remnant in the right margin. The upper and lower margin edges are ever-so-slightly rippled and the corners are worn. There is yellowed adhesive residue overall on the reverse of the print. The original mount is worn overall: it has been folded in half and has suffered some water-damage along the lower right edge. The stamps on the reverse of the mount read as follows: 'Famous Photographers Schools, Wilton Road, Westport, Conn.'; 'Photo Dept. F. A. S.'; 'Lesson [8 in pencil] Page [2 in pencil] Key: [D in red crayon]'; 'Please Return to Art Archives Graphics Building'; and 'Original Art.' This print was used in the Famous Photographers School Volume I, Lesson 8 (Indoor Lighting), on page 2, and the technical information is as follows: Leica with a 50-mm lens; Tri-X film; 1/50 second at f/8; available light.
