Condition

The 6 dye-transfer prints, on heavy paper with a glossy surface, are in generally excellent condition. The colors remain vibrant and saturated, with no apparent fading. When examined very closely under raking light, the following are visible on some of the prints: scattered deposits of original retouching, and sometimes very thin scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion. On some prints, the margin edges are very slightly rippled, which extends occasionally into the image. There is some minor wear to the corners. The 6 chromogenic prints, on double-weight resin-coated paper with a slight surface sheen, are in generally good condition. These appear to have slightly shifted in tonality. When examined very closely under raking light, the following are visible on some of the prints in the images and margins: scattered deposits of original retouching; very thin scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion; fingerprints; and soft handling creases. The margins are slightly age-darkened, and there is some minor wear to the corners. The plates and dimensions are as follows: 1. The Arch from the top of the Civil Courts Building (chromogenic) 15 1/8 by 19 1/8 in. 2. The Arch, Pink Leg (chromogenic) 15 1/4 by 19 1/4 in. 3. The Arch, Blue Sky (chromogenic) 15 1/4 by 19 1/4 in. 4. The Arch, Panorama (chromogenic) 15 1/4 by 19 1/4 in. 5. 7th and Chestnut, Archview Cafe (dye-transfer) 15 1/2 by 19 3/4 in. 6.
