Condition
This unique photographic object is in generally very good condition. The chromogenic prints have been laminated and flush-mounted to foamcore. The prints and foamcore are purposefully trimmed to the irregular shape of the diary page featured in the photograph.
As is usual with Peter Beard's process, there are a few faint surface scratches, surface disruptions, and scattered deposits of paint and ink overall. The photograph is annotated 'Arts Expand / Thank You!' in black ink and '476 Broome Str / New York City / USA' in white ink in the lower right corner. It is also signed, dated, and dedicated 'to Greg H. @ Xmas 1995 (The Time is Now) Peter Beard' in white ink along the left edge of the print.
The edges of the foamcore have been masked with black twill tape. The tape is peeling and creased in several places where the adhesive has lost contact with the foamcore. There are several areas, particularly along the lower edge and corners of this unframed photograph, that are creased and bumped, with small, attendant chips to the emulsion.
