Similar views by Henri Le Secq are held in the collections of bibliothèque des Arts Décoratifs and bibliothèque historique de la ville de Paris. This photograph might be attributed to him since he documented the renovation on the cathedral Notre-Dame de Pari. A similar view shows that the site was documented in Le Lithographe, 1839 (Janet E. Buerger, French Daguerreotypes, University of Chicago press, 1989, ill. p. 28).
