Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The gilding is rubbed and tarnished with some chips revealing the white gesso and the red bowl underneath. Both backrests are loose and have been restored to the junction with the seatrails. Some elements of the upper corners of the backrests have been refixed. There are visible construction cracks tp both seatrails (visible above the front feet). Both seatrails have been reinforced with four wooden blocks. There are some stains and tears to the fabric. Very elegant pair of chairs with an uncommon and beautiful design.
