Condition

The canvas appears to be lined. The painting is in overall good, stable condition and presents a striking image. There are some frame abrasions along the all extreme edges. There is a spot of some inconsistency to the varnish on the blue robe of Christ at center. Inspection under UV shows some scattered areas of retouches throughout. On the female figure at far right, on her yellow robe, there is a concentrated area of retouching, as well as in her arm and shadows. Further spots of retouching include: the brown headdress of the female figure at left, the background sky, around Christ's head, and scattered spots on the body of the figure at left among others. What appears to be an old repair is possibly between the figure at left and the figure wearing red, on the brown background at center. The painting is offered unframed.
