Condition

The panel is flat and uncradled. It is composed of two horizontal planks, which are bevelled on the verticla margins. The joint between the two panels has been reinforced with a strip of canvas. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clean and has been recently restored. Ultra violet restoration reveals some scattered retouching to the sky, lower right and the left margin. Furthermore there is some minor restoration to the joint between the two panels. The varnish is clean and even. The painting is presented in an ebonised, carved and ripple moulded frame.
