Description
- Village scene with travellers
- oil on oak panel, painted as a roundel
Condition
The panel is slightly bowed towards the lower margin and is uncradled, being composed of three horizontal planks. The work has been bevelled on three edges. The paint surface is relatively clean and there are some very minor paint losses along the joins between the planks. Ultra violet inspection reveals some old restoration along the joints between the planks and in the dark tones around the roundel. Overall the work is in good and stable condition. The painting is offered in a carved gilt wood frame in very good condition.
