Monsieur Simpére, 1950s;

Condition

The panel is composed of one panel and is flat. The panel is supported by two strengthening bars, 10 cm from the top and bottom. The paint surface is slightly unclean and the varnish is discoloured. The picture presents some minor paint losses throughout the panel, some of which have been retouched. The paint surface also presents a unrestored 0.5 cm loss on the top left corner. Ultra violet inspection reveals an uneven layer of varnish and further retouching to the Christ Child's ear. The work is offered in a carved gilt wood frame in good condition.
