Condition

The panel is flat and cradled. The paint surface is clean. To the naked eye there is some discoloured retouching to the architecture and the lower right corner. Ultra violet inspection reveals an uneven, thin layer of varnish as well as further retouching to the background and both faces. There is also some restoration in the drapery of the right-hand figure. The vertical margins exhibit some recent retouching and there is an approximately 7 cm repaired damage in the upper left corner. Overall the picture is in good condition. The work is offered in a carved ebonized and gilded wood frame in good condition.
