Condition

The panel is flat and cradled. The varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a thick varnish that makes further inspection difficult. Some retouchings are visible, particularly at the margins. The intricate details of the flowers and butterflies appear very well preserved, the colourful pigments appear to have also lasted well, with only the yellows thinning slightly. In good overall condition. The work is offered in a simple Dutch style frame in good condition.
