Condition

In overall fair condition. The canvas has a firm relining, the paint surface is dirty and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There are small areas of visible retouching in the background and in the boy's coat, which fluoresce beneath a milky varnish when viewed under ultraviolet light. The upper corner also contains some retouching. Offered in a gilt wood frame with gesso mouldings, with some losses.
