Provenance

With D. Katz, Dieren;
Anonymous sale, Amsterdam, Christie's, 1 September 2005, lot 82;
Anonymous sale, Vienna, Dorotheum, 4 October 2006, lot 203.

Condition

The canvas has a very firm relining, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clear and even. There is some evidence of wear visible to the canvas throughout. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals an extensive campaign of restoration to the whole composition, but this has largely been sensitively-executed and is not obviously visible to the naked eye. In overall moderate condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with a few knocks but otherwise in good condition.
