Condition

Overall the condition of the buckle is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some encrusted dirt, notably to the garnet inlay on one side and one of the side edges. There is some warping to the back plate and the pins holding it in place have come out slightly but are stable. There are several minor nicks and scratches.
