Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor losses, including to Christ's proper right foot, and one of the female figures' proper right thumb. A slightly open but stable joint is visible at Christ's proper right wrist. There is wear to the gilding and polychromy throughout, including craquelure and minor areas of loss, notably at the high points. The piece is composed of sections, with some joints visible. There is a layer of paint to the reverse with losses throughout. There is some minor evidence of past worming on the reverse, and some minor stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material.
