Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surfaces consistent with age. There are a few minor losses, notably to the horse's head and proper right arm of the St George on Anne's dress; some of the decoration of her collar piece; and to the joint between her crown and the border, which is now loose. There are a few very minor chips and some rubbing at the high points, including the tips of the noses. There is an open joint at the top of the border of the King George portrait. There is also minor warping to both of the banner borders. There is wear to the paintwork of the inscriptions. There are a few small holes in places. There is wear to the gilding of the frames, including a few chips at the edges and corners. There is minor general wear to the velvet lining.
